The O-rings that Bravo Company supplies with their BCG's are they really needed?  Other companies do not supply them. Any real need for there use?

Thanks!

Never used a O-ring on the extractor.  Still watting for my first FTE.

No. I've pulled the o-rings out of most of my bolts and haven't had any trouble.  I run a couple with the blue bumper too.

In most cases the o-ring is not needed. It's there more as insurance.

I run one and have not had problems.

It's just a #60 Viton O-ring.  Some hardware stores carry them.

These were first used in my unit as issued in kit form 4 yrs ago. Nowadays armorers are not putting them in when they replace the extractors or springs. Remember every new concept is usually the result of a previous concept that has been disproven.

Extractor O-rings treat the symptoms of extraction problems, not the root cause.  If your extractor is slipping over the rim, you need to slow down/delay unlocking of the bolt by running a heavier buffer.

I run them on my go-to guns. I've never had an extraction issue, but have them in there just in case. I've run them from the beginning in my go-to guns and haven't noticed any difference then my blasting guns that don't have the o-ring.
