1st Pic is an EOTech 552, 2nd one is an ELCAN.  The ELCAN is standard issue.

You align the remote with your PRR (Personnel Role Radio) and then strap the remote to your rifle and it  allows you key your radio while holding on your rifle.

It is pretty good piece of gear, it allows you to key out up to 2 meters away from the radio.

The scope in the 2nd photo is the ELCAN C79A2 optic. Its been updated with a new mount design and a green rubber covering to match the green furniture and uniforms of the Canadian military.

So the button is a remote for a radio system? Good idea if you think about the fact you would have to completly loose your hold on the rifle in order to key the mic. I thought for certain it was for a laser or light system. Thanks for the intel STLRN, good stuff
