Hi. I ran a search but didn't come up with too much relevant info, so don't shoot the newby! I went to Gun Runners to grab an off-list lower per the California thread. They were out of the Stags, the Rock River Arms were LEO only, so I was left with the others and bought one based on advice. Asked for the best, and the pointed me to the Vulcan one, which I believe is this one http://www.vulcanarmament.com/cgistore/store.cgi?page=/new/product.html&setup=1&ida=141&idp=1&his=0|1&cart_id=69580.556 The markings on my lower are: Vulcan Inver Gr MN V15 5 56mm Pxxxx and threw in a nut/bolt to pin the magazine. How decent are these units? Are they ok or did I waste my money? It was kind of a blind purchase because the "get it before the ban" voice made me.. Thanks for the help. |

In general. you are not going to hear good things about Vulcan. For CA specific questions, you would do much better asking in the CA hometown section, that way the rest of us aren't giving you dated or false info. Someone there may be able to steer you in the right direction. |

Sorry to say, you kinda got had on the Vulcan. Rock River Arms LEO marked receivers can be owned by anyone, you don't need to be law enforcement to buy one. The marking is just a left over of the 1994-2004 Federal assault weapon ban and doesn't mean anything anymore, but some manufacturers still mark some of their receivers for the humor of it... To buy a better receiver, your best bet would be to contact one of these vendors: http://www.coldwarshooters.com http://www.ddsranch.com Buy a receiver through them and have it shipped (they both know where the transfer dealers are in your area).
