I was bored, fired up the lathe.

Machined the forearm to have an HK MP5ish SD look to it. It is turned from solid nylon, I grooved the forearm, then was screwing around with an o-ring.....o-ring fit perfect and securely in the grooves in the forearm....so, 46 o-rings later..........

Bushmaster lower with a Colt buffer tube and VLTOR buttstock.  15" RRA upper with permanently attached flash hider, Colt double heat shields and Colt carry handle.  IDF sling.

CMMG stainless steel .22lr kit and mags.

Took it to the range and shot about 350 rounds of Federal bulk, CCI Mini-Mags and Remington Wildcat ammo.  Shoots great except one mag kept failing to feed.

I emailed CMMG and they said to send it back and they would replace the offending mag.  Great customer service.  The mag is on the way back.

5" barrel with American Mfg. 22 can. I got happy with the paracord. Yea, crappy Ultra dot but it works pretty well for a range toy.

Looks great.....

Can you tell me more about the stock setup?

Is it an Ace receiver block and folding mechanism?

Thanks

Thanks, the stock setup uses Ace components, an CAR15 Stock Block  (AARB) and a  Folding Mechanism with integrated AR15 Stock Interface  (FSM-AR).  I think I might want to redo it and replace the FSM-AR with a FSM or FSM-B with  CAR15 Stock Block (PN). The current FSM-AR does not allow the operation of the charging handle with the stock extended .  I need to fold the stock to operate the CH.

My Umarex Colt M4 22lr outfitted with a Walther red dot scope, $12 airsoft scope mount and $15 flip-up rear sight.  At 25 yards, my three groups were high and slightly left; my aim points being center of mass, throat just above the 7, and head.  Tweak my scope and I'm good to go.

http://jwimageworks.files.wordpress.com/2010/02/jw-9448-umarex-colt-m4-22.jpg

The cheapo rear sight is almost totally useless, but it looks good so who cares.

http://jwimageworks.files.wordpress.com/2010/02/jw-9467-umarex-colt-m4-22.jpg

The world's cheapest airsoft red dot scope mount feels surprisingly sturdy.  It's a heavy little bastard, and it looks great on the rifle.

http://jwimageworks.files.wordpress.com/2010/02/jw-9468-umarex-colt-m4-22.jpg

This is how Colt should have originally sold the M4 22lr: red dot, back-up rear sight, 20-round magazine.  Now all I need is a 90-degree safety.

SBRs, Suppressors, FAMG, and Assault Pistols are illegal in Hawaii.  The folder doesn't change the OAL since it's measured with the stock extended and not folded.  You do know that's a Spikes fake SD1 can shrouding a 16" barrel right?

Yea I knew about the Fake Can, I run the same one on mine, and it is sweet just like yours. I had thought about doing that stock on my dedicated 22 just like yours, and I read here that OAL was measured to the min length, and I just read someplace else that OAL is measured at the max length, I am sure there is a huge back and forth on this issue, and I just wanted to be safe, so I didnt buy the stock.

Sorry for the mix up, just wanted to make sure it wasn’t illegal. I am sure someone will come along and settle this with some documentation, and yell at me for starting a discussion in a picture thread.

Sweet 22, and I wish I had a lathe.

Here is mine, to get us back on track for pictures:

I also have a 9.5" dedicated 22 in the works.

Nice!

I asked about the OAL issue in the Hometown Hawaii/Alaska forums.  Someone responded that only 2 states measure OAL with the stock folded and Hawaii wasn't one of the 2 so I didn't pursue any further.

will a dpms free float tube like this attach to a standard barrel nut?
is it big enough inside to fit a 1" diameter surpressor?

Very cool looking setup - and appreciate the info about that stock adapter being not quite right.

I really built this so my Wife could shoot as well and not deplete my .556 ammo   Since she only shoots from the bench I figured I should get some bipods.  As luck would have it these turned up on the EE and the seller was willing to trade for some parts I no longer needed.  On a side note, holding the gun at the hip with the AFG and stock folded is really comfortable and well balanced.  I think the AFG would work really well if you can get it on a shotgun with a pistol grip.

Pic Thread!

wife won a 22 upper yesterday from the Carolina HTF gathering, so last night she made me get a buttstock assembly and lower parts kit. put it all in my extra noveske lower, added an extra set of KAC M4 rails, and gave her a m6, aimpoint clone, and kac vfg.

Had the Tac Sol upper for a little while but finally got to get rid of the factory tube and get it set up so I can shoot irons with it.  With the rifle length  forearm it has a nice sight picture.  Can not wait to try it out at an Appleseed next month.

Tac Sol Light Weight upper
YHM rifle length smooth side free float
YHM clamp on fixed sight
A1 butt stock, Fits me better.
Hogue pistol grip
nylon M14 shooting sling
bushmaster lower and carry handle
stock trigger with some polishing done.
CMMG un-notched hammer with Bushmaster LPK
I also have a scope and red dot sighted in for it also.
need more mags.

Don't lie.  We all know you crammed a vacuum cleaner tube on your forearm!

Looks real good.  I also like the ingenuity of it.

It's a JP VTAC carbine length tube.  I picked it up trashed from someone real cheap.  Had to turn some channel lock "teeth" marks off of the barrel nut and refinish it, but it turned out pretty good.
