You need a CMMG anti-jam charging handle. It won't fix the core problem (your gun isn't cycling all the way with that ammo), but it should fix stuck casings like that forcing you to remove the bolt. I'd recommend trying to run some Mini-Mags to make sure it's not an underpowered ammo issue. (Had that problem with my ST-22.)

I have the CMMG charging handle in it. It seems to help but doesn't totally prevent it.

This problem doesn't happen often but when it does it's usually after I have shot a lot through the gun, so maybe the action is getting fouled or neds more lube.

I'll try some mini-mags when I get the chance.

Thanks for the compliment. I usually spend the end of each range day playing around making pics with whatever guns I take. It's become sort of a game with me to see what kind of pics I can get. I have a cheap digital camera on a cheap tripod, set the 10 second timer, and then set it on burst mode where it takes multiple pictures. Then just I just shoot a bunch of rounds quickly in the hopes it will catch something.  I usually get lucky on a few shots.

Got rid of all the tacticool stuff on my CMMG .22lr and put it into a KISS configuration.  Plan on RIT dying the gray mags black sometime this weekend.

OK, so I got this built about a week ago, and have been busting my butt to try to get some range time in with it. That happened this evening.
And it was good.

The specifics:
PSA lower.
Rock River LPK with NM 2 stage trigger.
Ergo Deluxe tacticool grip.
Magpul upgraded trigger guard.
Magpul PRS stock.
CMMG dedicated .22 upper.
Nikon P-22 scope.
Black Dog mags with stainless lips.

Initial impressions:
I like the trigger, it was WELL worth the money.
Like the stock, didn't get a chance to dial it in, range had crappy rifle station, so I was making do.
Like the optics, good crisp image, definitive clicks, fast re-zero.
Only 1 FTF. Ran 3 full mags (about 75 rounds) of random/old crap from the bottom of my range bag, so fliers and FTF's were to be expected. Did fine with Federal bulk.

For the most part, I find the gun to surpass my own level of accuracy/skill/conditions tonight. No significant issues mechanically, well worth the price of admission.

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj91/bluesman2a/Tools/IMG_0497-Copy-Copy.jpg

In the weeks to come, I have two more builds coming together, and I may change some stuff out. I think ultimately this upper will get an ACS stock to be more portable.

The next build will be a varmint build the lower pictured here, with the PRS will go with a J&T Distributing/Doublestar upper with a 20" stainless fluted bull barrel. That will get a Leupold tactical I've had knocking around in the safe for a while.

After that, the final build (for now) will be with a Stag upper 16" flat-top middy. Prolly just throw a CAR 6 position stock on it and an old holosight (pre-EoTech) from my pin-gun.

So far I've been having fun researching and pulling together parts. I think it would have been a LOT more fun if I didn't see "Currently out of stock" at every darned turn, but it has made for a couple of good chases.

And of course the obligatory training pistol pics too:

Gonna order the upper from cmmg in a couple weeks and by the time it comes in I should have the SBR stamp and the stamp for my SS Silencerco sparrow to add to it. Out of all four of my pending stamps, those two stamps are the ones I am anticipating the most.

I think my favorite thing here is the LWRC trigger guard. I love seeing those instead of Magpul. Now I just wish they'd make an aluminum one.

I use to have a CMMG, but I really like this new DPMS 22lr based on Nordic NC22 (which in turn is based on the 10/22 design). Super reliable just like a 10/22. Cycles flawlessly after 2k rounds without cleaning.

Thx.  Its a fun little rifle and the G5-22 is very quiet.  I used to run one of my sparrows on it, but I got the G5-22 lightly used and cheap.  It fills out the handguard way better and the QD system is tits.

Just another run 'o the mill 3# rifle.

I built this for local Steel challenge and action rimfire matches. Hope to get it out to the range this weekend.

TACCOM polymer upper with Tim's new ultralight carbon fiber sleeved barrel
TACCOM carbon handguard
TACCOM carbon buttstock, shortened tube to a more carbine style length. Als added a small Vltor style bend at the bottom with a heat gun for better shoulder ergo's.
CMMG Evo Bravo bolt
NFA polymer lower
BCM Gunfighter grip
Arredondo magwell
Catch-22 bolt catch (works perfect with M&P 15-22 mags)
M&P 15-22 mags (with Catch-22 magwell spacers)
PA microdot with AD QD low riser

Why? They are $3.50 a box at my local Wally World. They are quiet, accurate and they cycle 100% in the upper. Which more than I can say for other dedicated uppers I have owned or my various conversion kits.

Here is my set-up.  This was built as an affordable option to practice high power competition. Finally complete, but now I won't be able to use it due to a serious back injury.

Built on a Nordic Components NC22 .22LR flat top upper with a 20" .750 stainless steel barrel. Has Rock River mil spec rifle length handguards with a Rock River NM float tube underneath. Front sight base is a windage adjustable Compass Lake with .052 front post. Carry handle is mil spec with 1/2 moa windage leaf with short hood and 2 removeable apertures (.046 and .052).  Elevation components are 6/3 mil spec which are standard to the carry handle.

Mags are standard Black Dog Machine magazines (2-10 round and 2-15 round).  The case is degined for a take down shotgun, but it works perfect for the upper and accessories.

I haven't done the final zeroing, but it is plenty accurate at 25-50 yards with Standard Velocity CCI or Wolf Match Target. Ultra reliable too; I can't remenber a single jam with this ammo!

I really like the looks of this.  Back during the ban I was working on something similar in 5.56 - I figured that if I couldn't have a telestock or FH, I'd go full spacegun.  I never finished it.

This would be a fun and inexpensive way to scratch that itch!
