In fact, if you pin the trigger to the rear in semi-auto and try to cycle the rifle by the charging handle, the BCG will find a hard stop point. I’m assuming this is the rear of the trigger being raised, pushing up on the lower leg of the dingus, not letting the upper cam surface lay back as the BCG moves rearward. Letting slight pressure off the trigger will allow the bolt to travel full rearward. With the 2 position AZR, this symptom in forced reset would mean the lower leg needed shortening for clearance. During the BCG cycle in semi-auto, the trigger will moves forward about 2mm but doesn’t reset and when the BCG goes into battery, the trigger moves back to the full rearward position and is dead (expected in semi-auto) until you let it out to reset. What I don’t like is the forced false reset before actual reset in semi-auto. It’s basically trigger slap to a lesser degree. I made a quick video showing the cycle of operations; it may be more illustrative than I can describe. Once again, 3rd position works as intended, just with a crunchy crummy trigger pull. https://youtube.com/shorts/nJyAko7DwKU?si=oVK1GbBw0LkGuPxV This is exactly my experience as well. It definitely has the "false first reset" in semi when manually cycling. I notice a little trigger slap when firing. All his parts, all fit with no issues that I noticed. Its been quite a while since I used a basic milspec trigger. Its bad, but far from a deal breaker. I dont own an H3 buffer (yet), so was getting the expected carrier bounce and dead trigger on frt mode. I swapped a Griffin SOB buffer (4.9oz) and had about 90% success in a D60. I assume a full H3 buffer will take care of it. |

Mine bumps forward in semi while holding the trigger, but I'm pressing it like I would while shooting. It's not a "dead trigger" if you're holding it back, if it did nothing after being released, then it would be dead. Go shoot it and put some wear on those parts and see how the trigger feels afterwards. It seems like every other gi trigger to me. I'm holding it forcefully to the rear; granted, that's probably lots more force than I would normally use. The point I was trying to make in doing that was that in semi-auto, the dingus in the upper, is affecting the FCG and the trigger reset. In actual use, I'm not sure it would be noticed, but it's very noticeable in bench testing, and something I haven't noticed with other FRT-devices. |

Hand cycling doesn't give the BCG as much force as the normal firing cycle. I can do the same thing as your video but it works just fine in live fire. I'd just test at the range before you modify anything. Edit: it depends on how hard you pull the trigger vs. how hard you pull on the charging handle. |

Attached File Attached File Installed in the exact same rifle that the 2 position dropped into and worked like a champ... installed ALL of the 3 position parts straight out of the package...will not work for more than a few rounds without hammer follow and malfunctions. Trigger pull is terrible, hard, gritty, creepy. I previously asked JD in another thread and of course he said I must not have installed all his parts.... |

Just received my second 3P. Wow! Trigger on this one is night and day different from my first. Smooth pull with lets call it zero creep since we're talking mil spec...clean, dare I'll say crisp tad over 5lb break. My first 3P is creepy and gritty and about as crisp as snapping a cooked carrot breaking at a little over 7lb...it does function fine though. 2nd unit passed hand function testing perfectly. Installed in a PSA AR-V that I assembled. With all the rain we've had the last few days and the rain coming the next few... I probably won't be able to really test it until next weekend |

Swapped an aluminum H2 in it and it ran fine with all ammo. The Grey Market Research H3 buffer is made of steel, not aluminum. The internal weights are .6oz steel, not the heavier tungsten weights. The overall weight is 5.3 ounces. Swapped it into the 3 position Rock River, would not work dead trigger on 2nd round. Don't waste your money on these buffers, it cost me $30 to tell you this. Even though the weight or mass is nearly the same, the heavy, sliding tungsten weights are what give the needed dead blow, not the overall mass. Edit: I don't think I shared this tid bit. Armaspec stealth recoil springs in any flavor wont brrt either... I do like them in suppressed guns and they work fine for slow semi ![]() Pretty sure the issue is they don't kill carrier bounce, even the H3... |

My friend had the same issue with his 2-pos drop in version. Has the same 'ding' on that side of the front of the AZ Reg too. He was having 1 to a couple rounds fire, then light strike primer hit. We figured he was having hammer follow due to bolt bounce, but he is running an H3 buffer. |

| Along with H3 buffers what spring are you guys using? Ordered a white Springco to have an extra. Should I have a hot white or blue? Or are standard carbine cheap springs fine? |

Lets see if I can hotlink![]() Didn't watch before hot linking... isn't that just a 3P filmed from another angle? Edit again...NVM, I see 3rd now. I thought since he fired a single after selecting the 3P,he was just fingering 3rd string there after. Then I remembered how the old 3rd burst FCG work |

You can see his finger still on trigger, then he lets up and he shoots threes for the rest. So ya, it does bring back memories!! |

The original Regulator was the MBT version, and it worked perfectly in both this 9mm, and my PSA 556 upper. This 3 position I have only tried in the 9mm lower due to having to swap out the entire FCG. Whatever the difference is, the entire same setup worked with the original but does not work with the 3 position. |

Armaspec braided and a KAW H3 is my mainstay. Very reliable with that combo when running the AZR in my 5.56. I fiddled around a bit with weights and springs but ended up in the end with the Armaspec braided spring in all. H2 in one for a little boost in ROF H3 in the others. My 300BO got stalled out with testing but likes stock carbine spring and weight so far. |

The RRA heavy is still just an H3 at 5.4 to 5.6 ounces (unless you have something more unusual)? The KAK is literally twice as heavy with more of the dead blow effect needed to reduce bolt speed. The KAK isn't working with the 3 position? If not it makes me wonder if you're having some other problem when trigger alignment? |

Yes I am positive...the RRA has worked with that upper/lower combination for YEARS...worked GREAT with the original Regulator....I got the KAK because it was recommended by JD...when the 3 position with the KAK did not work, I swapped the RRA and Quarters back in and had the same issue...JD said I must not have used all of his parts... ![]() I also use Real Tomato Ketchup all the time and don't think hamburger helper is just fine by itself.. |

The bolt may not be traveling back far enough to fully force the trigger to reset - I had the same issue with a 2-pos AZR. |

I need some advice. My AZR-15M2 (hereafter "AZR") was running perfectly...until it wasn't. I think it left the chat. My setup: 10" 9mm carbine, PSA Colt 9mm lower, A3 upper, FM9 bolt carrier with the internal weight cut down (for clearance), Spikes ST-9X heavy buffer. Gun runs like a hose. The AZR fit perfectly in the upper, and when I dropped it in, the gun ran like a fire hose! Just awesome. A real head-turner at the range. I thought I had found 9mm AR Nirvana. Then, after about 150-200 rounds, I started getting bang, then dead trigger. Bang, dead trigger. Every single time. Opened her up after one of the bangs and saw that the hammer was not cocked. Confirmed that condition after a few more dead triggers. I thought I had broken the disconnector, or the sear shelf of the trigger, but when I pulled the AZR out, the gun ran like a hose again, albeit a boring, semi-auto hose. I ran another two mags through the gun just to make sure. Dropped the AZR back in, bang...dead tigger. Bang, dead trigger. When I got home, I pulled the hammer/trigger/disconnector to inspect for any damage, but everything looks good. No unusual wear points. BCG looks good, too. When I looked at the AZR, I noticed is seems sort of...I don't know. Loose? Floppy? Should it rattle when you shake it? It appears that the top "cam" no longer reaches the downward projecting leg, but I don't have a second one to compare it to. There doesn't seem to be anything external broken, but I can't tell internally. Here are some pics of the AZR after the range session: Attached File Attached File Attached File Any thoughts? I was really digging this thing...for the first 5 or 6 mags. |

Maybe it was just barely reaching the trigger and after a bit of wear, now it doesn't, or is getting hung up on the disco somehow. |

How does your disconnector look? The M2 version pushes down on the disco I believe. If the AZR leg is now slipping off the back of the disco tail, it may no longer get reset. eta, you have the same ding on the left front as another poster showed. |
