Lots of lurking, and a couple failed builds, but I think I finally set up something I'm happy with. Got sick of waiting for Sionics to restock the SD barrels so I went with a Criterion Core/BRT .057 gas tube. Couldn't handle the G Super 42 so went down to regular milspec spring and H2.

Attached File Attached File Bizarro world trip to the long range bay this evening. I shot quite well, lots of hammered pairs at 4 and 500, good hits at 600, got some good data out to 750 with the 308 csass…but then I did some real dumb stuff like trying to shoot a group at 100 while still dialed up 5.1 mil  .

I was supposed to dial 1.0 mil; I dialed 10 and couldn't figure out why I wasn't hitting the target.

Just know that the ID along the Top Rail where the Gas blocks/gas tube sit is very tight, if you get one I would recommend you leave your gas block screws loose so can center up your block inside that channel and have max clearance to both sides, then torque gas block screws. Side adjustable or large blocky/billet looking blocks will not fit, you must use a LOW profile gas block like BCMs and similar. A Front Screw adjustable would work as long as its similar in profile to the BCM and others of that shape. Both those uppers run YHM non adjustable Suppressor gas blocks which fit no issues. Good luck, those rails are hard to find right now… |

Been a while since I had something to fit in this thread. 12.5” proof research 6.5 Grendel barrel, AEM4 6.5 and a Trijicon 1-8.  Still not sure about the bipod, might not be a full time thing. |

I wanted to do a similar setup as yours when I was building my 12.5 6 ARC upper a few weeks ago. I have a grey anodized G Fed rail, but was waiting on a .880 tapered gas block from Allegheny Arms. I made an impulse buy on an OCM-6 (instead of waiting on an AE M465) which will not work with the 12.5 due to it having the longer A Mount interface. The OCM-6 does work very well with both my 16 inch 6 ARC uppers and 14.5 6 ARC upper. That is a killer setup, now I definitely have to copy your build!

You would need a 30cal version of THIS but I don’t know if I have ever seen that before. Maybe ask in the Allen Engineering thread or give AE or Allegheny a call. There are a lot of guys that are pretty familiar with all the stuff associated with these cans. |

The AA .880 gas block and extended brake is perfect for a mid gas 5.56 running AEM5. I bet they'd make an extended brake for you for that 6. They may even make a 5/8-24 i haven't delved into that side of things personally. |

I have seen the extended brake that they make for the 5.56, but not sure if they would spin up a custom extended brake for 5/8x24 thread pitch. I might send them an email next week and see if they could make one and also see when those .880 gas blocks will be in stock. I sent them an email about the gas blocks back in mid July and they said that they should have them up on their website by mid August, but still not listed. |

Yeah, the last .880 gas block I bought was around a year ago, I should have bought a few more. I do have a spare Craddock tapered gas block and spare SOLGW 16 inch 6 ARC barrel that I could have cut into something that would work. I'll be patient and keep checking Allegheny's website, until I get tired of waiting and then "chop chop" the SOLGW barrel. |
