About ready to throw this thing down the driveway in frustration.

So I put together an all-DPMS LR308.  All parts are either new or very lightly used, but all are DMPS brand and stock for this rifle.  BCG is new, I'm using a 7.62x51 chambered barrel I got off the EE with something like 200 rounds fired through it.

This thing simply refuses to extract correctly.  At first, it wouldn't chamber OR extract.  It appeared to be an out-of-spec extractor, so I replaced that, and most of the problems went away.  Still didn't chamber correctly (wouldn't go completely into battery), but would extract better, so I replaced the spring and buffer to ensure I had new and correct parts there.  That seemed to solve the out-of-battery problem.

Now, it'll cycle correctly while firing, but I cannot manually extract a round.  It's so tight that if I want to unload the rifle, I have to beat the buttstock against the workbench while pulling on the charging handle.

I have Forster's go and no-go gauges in .308, it closes on the go and doesn't on the no-go, so I don't think it's an overly tight chamber.  Chamber doesn't look rough, either, and the cases are sticking BEFORE firing, so I don't think that's the problem.

What's the next step in the troubleshooting flowchart?

Have you blacked out(with a Sharpe) a in spec round to see if it is binding or getting stuck in the barrel lands?

Yep, and it's not.  Plus, if it were in the lands, wouldn't I have pulled a bullet or two in the process? (Which I haven't.)

Possible but not always. Pictures of cam pin bolt and bolt carrier please.

While I go find my camera and tear apart the bolt, here's some backstory.

Old thread on the previous problems.

I would like to see the area of the bolt and carrier where the cam pin fits in. I am wanting to see the wear pattern or lack there of.

Sorry, my little point & click digital can't zoom in close enough.  It appears the wear patterns are very similar to what you've posted.  Give me a minute ot try to get a better one of the bolt carrier.

Better pictures of this area please.

Have you tried deburring the barrel extension where those wear marks are on the extractor? You are getting some interference in their somewhere.

But in all seriousness, take a look at the barrel extension area for burrs and rough spots...there should not
be wear marks of that type with a new or nearly new bolt, since it does not seem to be a over tight chamber
or short throat...you may have to take a good look at the extractor and remove it if neccesary making sure it
does not bind at some point during cycling.

Good Luck.

As others have stated try cleaning up any burs in the barrel extension. If you have the tools I would strip it off the upper so I could work on the problem directly. Emery cloth  and small jeweler's files would be nice to have as well.
