I am looking for either one of two things... I am looking to mount some G2 LED's on a few of my rifles.
I do not like VFG's, so Im not looking for something that works well with them or pressure switches, something that I can mount relativiely close to my hold of the HG and activate with my thumb or twisting the tailcap. I either want an offset light mount that would give me a light between the bottom and side rails close to the HG, or to find some rails that will fit the spot. I have a DD OMEGA, SAMSON MRFC, KAC RAS, and Surefire M73. Of these, what are my options? Which of these would allow the mounting of an alternate rail? If anyone has pics of the lights mounted to go with their opinions that would definetely help with the type of setup it is. |

I don't know if it swings, that may be the tightening mechanism. but it is close to the hand guard. A cheaper option would be the VTAC. You can check it out in this thread.

You may be interested in our ZORM or ZROC offset mounts.
We designed them to be very low profile and optimally positioned for use with or without vertical foregrips. Shown below is an Elzetta ZROC.

Here is my G2 in the Larue mount. Obviously I have the FUG on my rifle but you can at least see what the light looks like mounted. http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn158/danfri81/AR-15/IMG_0956.jpg I use a Larue mounted on the left side with the light offset high and use my thumb. It is in the perfect position IMO for a weaponlight used on a midlength rail with the offhand thumb. It would mount the light a bit too far back in some cases on a carbine rail. Id use a FSB mount for a carbine rail to get the light further forward for thumb activation with no VFG. |
