| A buddy of mine has a COlt lower and BM(?) upper with the smaller hole. He tried to attach them with one of those offset pins that have the off-center sleeves. The problem is that you can lift the front of the upper and have a big gap near the front pin because it seems to rotate in its hole. Is there a trick or solution or something I haven't heard of..? I've never had to use one myself, so I am relying on your expertise. |

The "trick" is to buy the right offset pin. The most common type, which it sounds like your friend has, is a piece of junk. I cannot understand why, in fact, it is the most commonly available, but everybody, including the manufacturers like Bushmaster, sells this trash. The proper offset piece is sold by CDNN; cdnninvestments.com Part #TAR2-----$6.99 This unit will rotate when you open the action AND rotate back when you close it, so you don't have to drag out the screwdrivers every time you open the thing. I get to post this information 3 or 4 times a week, and emailed the forum moderator a while back about putting it up as a tacked item on the site. He hasn't bothered to respond, so I guess I'll just keep answering the questions one at a time[;D] Maybe somebody else has some influence on the moderator, and can get this info posted [:D] |
