I'm looking for the best way to mount the X300 on my middy. I'm running a DD Omega 9.0 with a fixed FSB. For the past couple years I've just been running it on the 3:00 rail but I would like to move it up into the 1:00 position to cast the barrel shadow down as much as possible and make it easier to use the light over low cover.

I operate the X300 with an XT-07 switch so the light is longer than a normal X300. I've looked at the Gear Sector mount, which is nice, but I'm concerned that it might leave too much of the backplate/switch assembly hanging in the air. Another option is the YHM offset rail mount. It's longer than the Gear Sector which should provide more support for the rear of the light.

Are there any other options out there that I should consider? I can run an offset mount on either the 12:00 or 3:00 rail. I'm looking for something that puts the light as close to 12:00 as possible while also keeping it in as snug to the weapon as possible.

Here is a pic of my current rig for reference.

The Gear Sector mount is probably the most solid option for an offset x300. You can't go wrong, you needn't worry about the durability of the x300 backplate, SureFire is as solid as they come. Have you considered an FSB rail-mount? Not sure if this would work but IMO the Gear Sector mount is the way to go.

What about the DD 1 o'clock rail? It appears that it would tuck the light in closer to the weapon. Anyone use it as an X series/ TLR  mount?
