Hey guys, I'm looking for some information and advice regarding an offset reflex sight.  I have a Hogan .308 with a Horus DMR scope mounted atop the rifle, and am looking into a reflex sight to mount offset to the scope.  I've been looking at the Trijicon RMR 05 with a 9 MOA dot.  (I think thats the model number) which is both powered via tritium and by a fiber optic strip atop the sight.  It claims to be rugged, and I do abuse my rifles, and want something that is not battery powered (My scope is not illuminated, for example) Does anyone have experience with this sight?  would you recommend it?

Thanks

I would mount it on top if at all possible...( Don't know if you could see it with your knobs?)
That 9 moa dot is a little to big for me, but the RMR is a good sight.... I use one on my FNP45 tactical handgun. The 9 moa will make for fast target acquisition, but I would go with a smaller moa.
The amber sights on the RMR you are talking about can be a pain in certain lighting conditions, but the benefit of not ever having to run battery's makes up for it. I have seen some break, but from my understanding, trijicon took care of it and fixed, or replaced it.

I would recommend it any day of the week, but like I said, I would get a smaller MOA dot

I think they only come in 9 and 13 MOA flavours, but I'll look into if they do smaller.

My scope is a 3.5 to 21x, so a large dot will be akin to running an EoTech indoors, all you really have to do is place the large (I think its a 65 MOA) dot on the target and squeeze.  Anything past 50-100m I can use the scope at low power and go from there.
