besides swapping it, anybody have a fix for rotational issues w/ the oly arms ff "firsh" tube?  i have tightened the 2 screws (alternating back and forth) as much as i can before the small hex head screws strip but it is a friction interface w/ the barrel nut and the tube still rotates.  i did use blue threadlock and allowed ample time for it to dry.

any suggestions on keeping this straight?

You might have better luck getting this answered here at olympic arms owners association. The site is slow but they will answer all your Oly questions. Most folks here are not Oly friendly.

I used a small amount of Rosin on the threads before tightening.

I like the Oly FIRSH but I think it needs a set screw threw the HG into the barrel nut.

TC or anybody - how do you take off the oly flash hider?  it is completely round - no square at all on it....again, no ban state

oly claims it is a a2, but there is no flat on it...you can kind of see it in this pic, if you need a better pic lmk and i will take one...

Oly will answer the phone.  just call them.

I love thier reverable safety.  being a lefty I put it in from the other side.  Really smooth, much better then the regulat ambi, and the double lever doesn't get under your trigger finger.

do you think a pipe wrench wrapped in electrical tape will do it?  need to get a strap wrench - any one in particular?

Pipe wrench is garanteed to leave teeth marks through the tap. Tried this once with a vice grip. Not pretty.

You might try a bench vise with a barrel block. Stick the flash hider in the barrel block, tighten down the block in a bench vice and twist the rifle.

If you don't care about saving the flash hider, stick a small chisel or hardened flat tip screwdiver into the FS slots and try to unscrew it that way. It will probably crack the FS but not before it comes loose. Oly's pistol caliber FS will crack if you pry on the slots. Been there, done that, but it might work long enough to unscrew the FS.

New FS are only $15 I think.

put the blue loctite on the threads of the outer portion of the barrel nut and checked it this morning - nice and tight :) lets see how it handles being used now
