The time has come.... Ive been using AR types for around 15 years,. Ive owned literally dozens, Everything from 7" fire-starters to 24" precision rigs,  M4's DMR's A4's DOD 9mm's .22lr guns, you name it Ive probably tried it. Ive come down to two. Why two?  Well they're both papered SBR's and I suppose that makes it more difficult to sell them. Pics of both for perspective....
Carbine "1"
10.5", Eotech, knights forearm, G2 LED 1/9 twist.

Carbine "2"
This one is one of Bravo Co's Middy's cut down to 12.25", Kinda KISS rifle with Surefire forend and G2 LED

I just find that I never use both, Ive taken exactly 6 carbine type classes in the past year, and to be honest, I used my AK74 in 4 of those, the other 2 I took both of the AR's with the intention of trying both but ended up using the Middy throughout. The Middy balances much better than the 10.5"er,has been 100% reliable and Ive found that the irons don't slow me down a bit.
If I were to sell one Id just sell the complete upper and keep the papered lower for simplicity sake and use the money to upgrade my boltgun, probably with a DBM kit.
I dont know, what say you?
P.S. Poll inbound and sorry about the Lowspeed lean the rifle against the mudroom wall pics

Keep both.
Cover the one you don't use with oil and stash it in the back of the gun safe.

+1 Both could prove very valuable assets in the future.

I would keep both..can you give me the details on the BCM? I was planning on cutting down my middy but didn't know how it would function with a 12.5" barrel..

Sure, it started as a 16" BCM middy 1/9 chrome-lined government profile barrel. I chopped It to just barely stick out of a DD 12.0 FF tube, ended up around 12.25". Later I sold off the build I was using it for and the barrel sat in my parts bin until one day I realized I had enough parts laying around for another rifle, Funny how that happens.  i shot the rifle and really liked the balance and "feel". I have around 4500 rounds down the tube both suppressed and unsuppressed, Dirty and clean.  Still has the stock port size and runs 100%.  Anything else I can tell you?

You know, OP, I have to concur with the majority and I think you know why.  There is no sense in ridding yourself of either weapon.  Keep both.  Be happy.  Be prepared.

Stay alert, stay alive!

I know I know One is none, you should know better than most that there's simply stuff that a 5.56 will not do. Tough to justify 6 carbine caliber weapons 4-5 that just sit in the safe.If the world goes to crap Im grabbing an M1a anyway.

Stock RRA Bolt w/blue spring and Stock RRA carriers, H buffer and Wolf recoil springs...But to be honest I run that setup because its what I had laying around, Cant tell you it would/wouldn't run with standard weight buffers and springs.

Thanks again..I have Standard, H1, H2, and H3 buffers along with with YM Chrome BCG's and a LMT Enhanced in other rilfes and just laying around..I guess if I decide to do it, i'll just have to see what works..I think my biggest concern was what size gas port would be ideal to make it run..

Unfortunately, Rifles, Cars, and Women.... None are 100% life and death reliable until you've personally lived with and put a lot a miles on them,  You can spend 500$ or 5000$ and get a written guarantee from the pope himself but until YOU know its reliable its just a pile of parts.

Sell the 10.5 but keep the Eotech and the BUIS and stick it on the 12.5 middy.

How is the AK74 working in the classes? I will admit, that is what I plan to use when I take one. Main reason is the ammo price. 120$ per 1080rnds is easier to swallow than 240$ for steel cased .223.

Thought about that, but kinda like the irons.. Thats why I started running the 74 but quickly grew enamored with it, try it you'll like it.

That is sweet, always loved the micro's on the ultimak.

I have been wanting to run that combo BUT I hate the 4moa dot on the micro. I have astigmatism, but even with contacts the 4moa dot threw a micro looks huge. My 2moa ML3 is GTG with contacts in and barely usable without. I like that safety too, I'm sure that is a nice improvement.

What kind of rig is that?

The only thing I think that rifle needs is a AK hogue grip. I love the one I have on my 74. If aimpoint had a 2moa micro my 74 would be my SHTF, go-to gun. Until then my BCM 14.5'' with my ML3 is.

you could  part out the sbr's
swap the lowers from your sbr's onto other rigs you use and sell those lowers.

Eh, if you are dead set on selling one, sell the shorty. Keep the middy if it shoots better for you. You aren't selling the lower, so another rifle is just an online order away.

I appreciate the recognition, sir.  I also know most men, who are their own men, make choices despite majority or minority opinions.

Be safe.
