I am trying to mount up my Bushnell 6500 2.5-16x42 and originally ordered a P.E.P.R., however I have reconsidered.  I have read a lot of threads on this site about the Larue QD-104 and I have seen that a lot of people use the ADM Recon.  I also realize that there is a loyal following of each and this may be a touchy subject that has been discussed before.  I can get a Recon quickly from a trusted source which is why I am leaning that way.  However, I would like to know if it is worth $150.  If not I will just suck it up and go with the Larue.  Given what I have seen in other forums, some of you will tell me not to even think about it and to just go with Larue... I am fine with that but I would ask that you tell me WHY Larue is the better mount.

I am just too new to AR-15s to simply drop $150+ on a mount without knowing much about them.  I would really like to hear from people who have tried both mounts out.

What is making you reconsider the p.e.p.r.?

Can't say anything about the Recon except... now that I have been spoiled by Larue, it will never even get a shot from me.   I don't store my Nightforce on my AR, but everytime I put it on, I am confident that my zero has still held.

- Burris keeps pushing by the date back for one.  Secondly, I don't know that the gap between the two rings will provide enough room to adjust the scope back and forth.  Lastly, it might be nice to have QD with a good return to zero capability.

We all know Larue makes mounts that are best in class.  Others may be as good, but why try when you KNOW Larue has products that dont have room for improvement and will fix any issues that may ever come up no questions asked?
