I'm trying to decide on an optic, but I really don't have experience since this is my first AR build. I've pretty much narrowed it down to 3 choices, and I could use some other opinions. I have a Colt LE6920 with a free float rail.

1. Primary Arms 30mm Red Dot. With the high cant mount, 3x magnifier, and leapers magnifier mount. Will those 2 mounts work together? Its about $165 for this set up and its has avg review of 5 stars.

2. Bushnell Trophy TRS-25. This one is cheaper but doesn't have the magnifier. It has good reviews, I think I saw someone on here talking about it. I think I would need to get a medium profile riser mount for it. Seems decent for $79 with mount.

3. Vortex StrikeFire Red Dot. Comes with 2x magnifier, and you can switch between red and green. Not sure how to mount it. Comes to $160 plus whatever mount I might need.

Opinions? Suggestions? I could use some help here.

Good to know. Do you know anything about the optic? If it's good quality or if anyone has had any problems with it?

The Strikefire is a solid optic.

Probably as good as any optic that comes out of China Some have had them fail or wash out in bright light. Vortex will take care of you, if this happens.

If forced to do so, I wouldn't feel too bad about using one in a defensive situation, but I'd prefer to have something better in that situation.

For general use, it's a fantastic optic, in my experience.

Strikefires are good. Come with the mount.

TRS25s are good. They take a beating and have a long battery life.

The Primary Arms 30mm is also good.

I would prefer the Strikefire simply for the lifetime warranty, however.
