Ok Im even more confused then before. I cant seem to make a decesion which optic I want for my new noveske n4. I definently want a variable power 1-4. I am a police officer and this will be my new patrol rifle. So I need to be able to shoot both eyes open when Im up close and personal and still have the option of magnification for a longer range shot.
Optics Im thinking of Elcan DR Spector NightForce 1-4 x 24 NSX Meopta Meostar 1-4x22 K-DOT Trijicon 1-4x24 Accupoint TR24 I know the Elcan is twice as much as say the Trijicon but I want the best option out there. I have shot the ELCAN and I think its the next best thing since sliced bread but its kinda big and bulky and expensive. Please Someone Help ME |

I have the NF 1-4x24 with FC-2 reticle (circle/dot with wings). I like it a lot, it's very fast up close and at 4x, the dot is 2 MOA, so is still good for steel plates at 2-300 yds.
I also like the S&B 1.1-4x24 (new generation,, not the x20 objective) FD7 reticle (German duplex). No blue tint as in the x20, also SFP so the dot is only ~1.5 MOA on 4x.The x20 is FFP, so the dot is ~ 6 MOA at 4x. The Mildot of the FFP is not much use in the 1-4 power range. The red dot is like a RDS - daytime bright. If you can afford $2700 for a scope, this is state of the art. I couldn't swing it and am happy with my NF. But I really like my buddy's S&B. |

Quoted:
S&B is you can afford it. NF if not. Trijicon TR24 in Green when they are readly available. In order tho I might put a Trijiicon ahead of the NF it was a tough desision when I had both. +1 but I'd not worry about the S&B and pick between the NF and Trijicon. |

I just purchased a Meopta for my patrol rifle. I looked at the XTR, the trijicon, and the Meopta and the full spectrum illumination won out for me. The LE price of the Burris was very nice, but I didn't like the variable eye relief. The trijicon is hard to find, but I was also worried about the reticle being dim in low light.
So far the Meopta has done everything I want it to in range drills and "clearing" exercises. |
