I'm building a couple SBR's which leaves my S&W M&P Tactical open some new type of shooting.  I'd like to start shooting out beyond 200 yrds.  I have shit eyesight so I'm looking for magnfied optics, but also want to retain near target capabilities.  I saw a set similar to this and thought it may work well:

I'm looking to put a Vortex Crossfire 3x9 50 on the rifle and have a T1 or maybe an RMR on a DD 1o'clock offset mount.

Vortex Crossfire

Although I'm colorblind and have hard time seeing the red, the Aimpoints work somewhat okay when turned up all the way.  I just have a tendancy to lose them when moving from background to background.  I don't Aimpont making a green dot anytime soon so its just time to do it.

For my SBR, I'm thinking about the 1.5X ACOG in Green.

They make an RMR with an amber dot, if that works better than red for you you may consider it.

Do you think a 3x9  40 wth an rmr is a good overall combo?  It seems to cover all the bases so to speak.
