I have a RRA with a 20 inch colt barrel, 1/7 twist.  I have others for close up work.  I really don't see myself shooting more than 300 yards, but it would be a nice option.  I am looking for a scope.  I don't want to spend more than 500, max.  I am not sure if a Leupold 3X9 would be enough for all possibilities, most of the scopes I have seen that are 14 or more power cost way over my limit.  I do not want a scope made in the phillipines (nikon) or china.  Any recommendation for what my minimum scope power should be and what my price/model options are?  Thanks in advance!

Hi, I have some very high end rifles with scopes but I also have an HBAR for exactly your purpose.  I decided on a Burris Fullfield with Ballistic Plex.  I put the Knog Creek Tactical adjustment knobs on it and it is perfect for that purpose.

Leupold VX3 2.5-8x36 or 3.5-10x40 (USA), Bushnell 4200 2.5-10x40 (Japan) or Zeiss Conquest 2.5-8x32 (USA).  If you want more magnification (and semi-target turrets) look at the Bushnell 4200 4-16x40.  They are all in the $370 to $430 range.
