Hello, I am building a SPR and wanted to go with a Harris, probably with a Larue mount. I just am not sure which length to go with, 6-9 or 9-13. If anyone has some fist hand experience they want to share that would be great!

If you are going prone then 6-9

My brother while deployed to A-stan really wished he had a 6-9, he was a squad designated marksman.  Not first hand, I know, but hopefully counts for something.

Thanks! I think I'm going with the Larue/Harris 6-9 bipod Larue offers, the one where they removed all of the harris mounting adaptors and melded the leggs straight to the rial mount.

That's funny , I posted the exact same question awhile back and got 5 responses saying get a 9-13..I ended up getting a 6-9 Larue/Harris hybrid and it works fine. Unless you are in tall grass or are  big around the middle you should be ok with a 6-9 most of the time.

I had 6-9 and liked it, saw no reason for 9-13.

+1 6-9

I have a 9-13 on my bolt gun and never extend the legs.  It is too tall when shooting off a bench.  It is fine for prone, but I'd probably get the 6-9 if I were to buy a new one.

I went with 9-13 so that if I am in tall grass I may have a chance to use it.  That said i have never gone to the full 13" but have used it at 10 or 11.

Went 9-13 here just so I can get more elevation when shooting prone.  Depends on the terrain you expect I guess.  Over here in the Great Pacific NorthWest the ability to elevate the barrel makes the 9-13 more suitable for me...
