I have a TA31A ACOG currently mounted on a LaRue LT-100 ACOG mount, but the rear lever on the LaRue interferes with the GG&G BUIS when the ACOG is mounted where it should be for proper eye relief. I would like some opinions on other lever type ACOG mounts that folks are using (i.e. GG&G,  American Defense or others) that might let me mount my ACOG a bit further back on the rail.

Thanks.

LaRue model 622.  Same as the LT100 but reversed with the levers on the right.  Same price same quality.  Call laRue.

The only way to mount it further back with a BUIS is to go all ARMS.  You can fit it one notch further back since the BUIS and Mount overlap.

Can't you just turn your LT-100 around on your ACOG? I was under the impression that the LT-100 could be mounted with the levers on either the left or right side.

I tried that, and it's a "no go": the ACOG screws are not centered in the mount, so reversing the mount puts the ACOG in a worse position.

Oh okay. I didn't know that. How about mounting the ACOG all the way on the rear most slot and putting your BUIS in front of the ACOG? Not the prettiest, but it might work for you.

I actually tried that on my older Bushmaster, and it isn't a half bad solution. It is functional, but it does look a bit weird. But since my Colt is mostly a range gun, and ACOGs are bulit like a tank, I will probably just remove the BUIS and move the ACOG back to where I can get the proper eye relief without having to place my nose to the charging handle. I'll pack my BUIS in my gun case in case I ever need it.

How far back do you want the ACOG?  I use a gg&g mount, 40l, and TA31. No problem with the sight picture.  Not quite nose to charging handle.

Crappy pic for reference:

Hwo about the Larue ACOG RCO mount? That is what I bought since I wanted my lever on the other side, and didn't know they make a reverse LT-100. Its cheaper than the 100 and I have had no isssues with it.

So the issue isn't that you can't seat the optic far enough back, just that the rear lever interferes when you do so?

I run an ADM mount on my TA01 and have been very satisfied.  It only has a single throw-lever, but it has been faultless for about 1200 rounds, now.  The single lever is in the middle of the mount (front-to-rear) so it should alleviate your issue with a rear throw lever.

It was my only ADM mount for a time, but since that addition I have added 3 other ADM mounts and have no issues or complaints (Recon, Aimpoint and VFG).

Or you could always change BUIS's instead of the LaRue...

Hope that helps...

(And before all the "OMG It's not a LaRue!!!" critics jump in, I own several LaRue mounts as well and am a big fan - I'm a TEXAN after all.  They are shit hot and sex-on-a-tactical-biscuit, but that fact does not address the OP's problem with his specific setup...)

That pretty well sums up my problem. It looks like a single lever mount would improve the eye relief to an acceptable degree. I just have to decide if I can justify spending another $100 plus on a new ACOG mount just so I can mount a BUIS, which isn't really necessary for what I am using my AR for.
