I installed an Osprey Piston System on my 16" carbine, I have a rifle length buffer tube, what should I use for a buffer?  Will the standard rifle buffer work, or am I better off changing it?

Rifle length extension = Rifle Buffer

W/o a plastic spacer in the extension tube, you will damage your lower if you use a shorter Carbine Buffer.

My question is on the weight of the buffer.

A standard buffer is 5.5 oz I use H3 buffers in my 416 systems but I use 14.5 barrels and gas port size is different I think.I would try it if it short strokes change out the stock to a carbine one.I dont think youll have a problem but you wont know until you try.

You said that you have a rifle length extension. A rifle length extension means a rifle buffer.

A rifle buffer weighs ~5.2ozs +/- 0.1oz.

The Osprey system is "drop in."  No buffer change is required.
