Are there other platforms like the AR-15? I know the AK is something like it, but I'm thinking of a more piece together system from mil-spec parts.

the 1911 (Pistol) is the AR15 of Handguns.

Its just as customizable as the AR15 Platform.

what about the FAL? I've never shot one. What are they like?
