So I have been looking at ammo prices on this site and and on the distributors' sites for several months now and have not found any .223 ammo for less than 40-35 cents per round that is in stock.  I am looking to buy 500 or 1000 rds but this task seems impossible.

They are out of stock.  But, put your order in, and take advantage of the price, as it is only going to go uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup.

Yes, Sportman's Guide is backordered for several weeks at that price, but at least they have something in stock. I just put in another order for 1K. The price goes up $20 every month. This must be the last K I order at these prices. Next stop is reloading.
