I picked up a new stripped PSA upper today for a build I'm working on. I tried it on a new psa lower and the front pivot pin is fine but the rear takedown pin is extremely tight. I can get it in but have to use a nylon punch to get it out, I hit the block with some sandpaper and it's helping some, my question is will it eventually wear in or should I sand it down till it fits easier or just scrap it and grab a different upper?

It's aluminum. It'll wear in if you're patient.

That's what I was hoping to hear, guess I've been lucky. This was the first upper I've had an issue with.

An upper that is too tight will wear in to be perfect. A perfect upper will get loose and end up sloppy/rattley. You have now sanded away your finish and ensured it will end up a rattle trap one day, congratulations.

Before sanding, the upper would not even seat down enough to get the pin started. The lug was to thick and on the first attempt to close the upper it shaved the slightest amount of aluminum of the block, so I sanded the burr down and smoothed the lug out and got the upper to where it atleast will close and I can force the take down pin in.

Update, I just got my dust cover and forward assist in and neither of them work right for this upper. I believe I got my first junk part. I emailed psa and will wait to see what they say.

What do you mean they don't work right?  How are they not working?

The dust cover will not latch closed like the ejection port is oversized and the hole drilled for the forward assist pin is offset.

And yes, I assembled everything correct, this is not my first build. Even the bcg is trying to hang up with nothing else installed in the gun.
