As I've been getting ready to begin my AR build project, I've been doing a lot of research on the AR 15 and getting very familiar with all the intricacies of the weapon.  While researching a brass angle ejection issue on a friend's AR 15, I ran across a chart that shows that the ideal ejection angle for an AR 15 is 3-4:30 o'clock.  Curious, I went back and reviewed a video of me shooting my 100% reliable RRA LAR-15 carbine and noticed that the brass ejects at about 2:30 o'clock.  So, my question is, should I worry about it if it is running fine?  Or should I do something like switch to a heavier buffer spring?  Or could this also be because I'm shooting cheap ole American Eagle .223 Rem?  I can't recall what angle it is ejecting 5.56 at, but I imagine it is probably similar.

What do you guys think?

100% reliable means you don't need to mess with it. That chart was for guns that had problems.

My RRA (middy) ejects at about 2oclock, 100% reliable as well..
as said, if it aint broke dont try to fix it.
.223 or 5.56mm doesnt seem to matter

My pattern depends on ammo. My hand loads @ 2700 fps goes to 2:30 ish But cheap wolf goes to 4:30.

That's a good point.  I never thought of that.  I haven't run Wolf through my gun.  In my AK, it was dirty and seemed under-powered.  What are you experiences running it through an AR?  Does the steel case bother you?

My ar does fine with wolf. Accuracy was ok. Not one hicup.  Decent enough for play.  One day i took my son with me to the range. Had 500 rds of wolf. Set up and some friends showed up. Started talking and son started shooting. When we were thru talking went back to my son. He had shot up all my ammo and had an ear to ear grin. Steel cases all around.

Hmm, Well, I am going to get a BCM bolt carrier anyway, so maybe I should start shooting steel until my current BCG breaks or doesn't.  You know... save money on ammo.

I use the heaviest buffer that will reliably cycle my current ammo choice in my rifle... individually by rifle.

I don't worry about where the brass lands... tends to sort itself out or become a non issue.
