I've searched and read a ton of posts but didn't see any answers on what uppers work with the PA10 lowers.  I know the "PSA works best with PSA" has been stated to death but I'm wondering with their seemingly always OOS uppers are there any other alternatives.   The closest I got was PSA stating that their lowers were tested with DPMS Gen1 Uppers.  Any specific input on this would be greatly appreciated, anyone running mismatched uppers on PA10 lowers?

They "fit" and "function" but there are variations in contour lines that won't match up...

You'd be better off buying a stripped PA10 upper and then building it with the barrel that you want.. Then you will have a forward assist and a carrier with the buts.

Thanks for the link, appreciate that.  What BCG and CH did you use for this upper?

Well the PSA upper I was looking at finally got back into stock yesterday so I ordered it up.  I got the 18" SSK upper.  Hoping it gets here in time for range day next Sunday!

This is my experience with a PA10 18 inch upper I bought back during the spring during one of the big sales PSA had.  The PA10 upper on did not work with my DPMS 308 lower.  The BCG only would travel back about half way and jam bad enough that I had to bump the muzzle to get it to go forward.  That was just charging by hand and not pulling back very hard at that.  I removed all the parts from the PSA upper and installed them on a spare DPMS flat top upper and all works fine and I've had zero problems.  Could be I got a bad upper.  All the other parts transfered over to the DPMS upper just fine.  Rifle is a good 1.5 MOA with good ammo for five shots are 100 yards all the time. The price for all the parts would have been more than what I paid for the complete upper so as I look at it got a free upper, and a discount on all the rest of the parts.

I have the PTAC lower (PSA PA10 in different clothing) and a Detroit Gun Works upper receiver fits and functions just fine with a Faxon barrel installed.  Using a PSA BCG.

PA10 upper and lower with Midwest tube:

I need to wring it out more, but so far I am satisfied with the accuracy.  I haven't tailored my handloads yet and haven't run any match ammo through it, now that I am thinking about it........perhaps I should.

It does well with M80 ball.  There is some Geissele, Larue, Magpul, and Leupold in there too with a Gemtech HVT mount.

ETA: Other than the little shelf over the fire control area, it fits great.  Pins pop out with no problem.  Functions great.

BCG came from AIM.  I'm not sure who made it.  Its working fine. ETA: Here's the LINK

Original CH was an el-cheapo mil-spec from ebay.  I recently put in a BCM Mod 4.  Nice upgrade.
