Hey Guys,
I am waiting for my POF 308 20" SPR to arrive soon and I am getting some parts/accessories squared away, including optics/rings/mount (either buying new or stealing from another rifle...). My question is this: Has anyone with a POF 308 tried mounting a high-magnification, large objective scope on their rifle such as a Leupold Mark 4 6.5-20x50mm LR/T M1 or Mark 4 8.5-25x50mm LR/T M1 or Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x50? If so, what rings/mount did you use to mount the scope in order for the large (2.5" give or take) diameter bell of these scopes to clear the Predator fore-end's top rail? Any thoughts, comments, pics of your setup, etc.? |

I have a IOR 3-18x42mm FFP Sniper's Hide edition scope with ADM QD mount on my P-308......I have plenty of room for a 50mm objective. I'm pretty sure ADM says it should clear a 56mm with a standard AR. Here's a pic: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v125/blt4rox/100_1259.jpg Just keep in mind....if you get that optic up high enough for folding BUIS, you may not be able to get good cheek weld (which is why I had to get a .308 Magpul PRS for an AR10). The extra 1/2" height or so of the POF Predator rail means you may need an adjustable cheek riser. Sean Nice scope! |

It was a lot more $$$ than I wanted to or planned to spend, but I figured I really only have 1 long range rig and a one time high dollar price for a scope was worth it. Thanks again. Sean |
