Wow, all that talk about timing problems with a short gas tube and then he never talks about timing and a short piston and what makes it different. That's because there is no difference. He solved the short gas tube problem with mass, the same as you would in a short gas tube by using a heavier buffer and/or heavier spring.
Way to go!
