O.K. stupid question time.
What is the long indentation between your FCG pin holes? I've seen that on other lowers, but never on a Bushy... Cheers, Chris [edited cause I are dumb] Oh... I see. It's some kind of pin anti-walk clip or something. Never seen those before. |

Thanks, I went back and found a pic of another rifle with a better angle. Are they supposed to keep the pins from walking out, or are they supposed to clean up the trigger pull. I've never had a problem with walking FCG pins on a semi-auto, but I could see the utility on a worn lower I suppose. Cheers, Chris |

The main purpose is to keep the pins from rotating and wearing out the holes in the receiver. They have the added benefit of never walking out and also tightening up the trigger pull to some extent. I think they are most useful on a full auto registered receiver since they'll protect the holes from wearing out in that high dollar receiver. YMMV... |

I like the twins! I especially like the green furniture. I might have to look in to getting some. Cheers, Chris |

Man, the telestock and the handguards are easy. I'm into the regular old A2 pistol grip, though, and had to wait for the fun show to get some since they cost about $5 and everyone wants $7 for shipping!
Thanks! |

Are they Cav Arms? Are those handguards double shielded? Are you getting good bbq in Texas? So many questions... |
http://www.fiftygrit.com/
Yep, Cav Arms. Not double shielded! But the 9mm will get a rail one day (something cheap I can hang doodads on) and next time I find some double shielded green ones, I'll get them for the M4gery. But I don't shoot auto, so it's usually not that bad. No worse really than when we shot M16A1s auto on the range, in July, anyway! I miss Dixie's! There's good BBQ here, but no Dixie's! ETA: Dude, we're so hijacking this thread! |

Here's another one of my builds that I managed to finish up last Friday
http://home.comcast.net/~canyonflyer/CAR15_1.jpg Anyway, got a stripped DPMS lower, attached a 4 position Bushmaster Telestock, an M16A1 pistolgrip and the standard parts for the lower. Stripped a used GI M16A1 upper of its barrel. (Got the barrel sitting next to my Colt Slickside upper waiting for assembly) Then removed the teardrop forward assist and replaced it with a standard forward assist assembly. I attached a Bushmaster superlight 16 inch barrel to this with an A1 flash suppressor and tapered Delta Ring, and put in an A1 tapered front sight post. The idea was to make a clone of a GAU-5 that the Airforce PJ's use. http://home.comcast.net/~canyonflyer/Shilling.jpg by the way, if you havent read the book this picture was from, "The Battle of Mogadishu", I would suggest that you do. A very good companion to Black Hawk Down. |

HAHA, I noticed that too, but thats just a picture from a book, and Im not going to write the author and tell him his handguards are sideways.....
I've known PJ and CCT guys, and if he is running his gear that way, its for a reason. |
I absolutely agree
Its an Airsoft! I have never tried to put mine on sideways. Wouldn't you have to modify them to get them to fit that way? With the gas tube cut out? I agree, if a pro sets his rifle up that way, must work for him. |

heres my first build
started as a bushy stripped lower and del-ton m4 kit. i added some extras like a magpul trigger guard, G27 grip and YHM 2 piece handguard. it had a carry handle but i sold it to fund my A.R.M.S. #40 which will hopefully be here tomorrow, im pretty optimistic since i ordered it from eagle which is about 30 mins from here. next on the to-do list is add an eotech when i can afford it, and possibly a vfg. my digi cam is a pos so i didnt try to be artsy here http://thehackersclan.net/psyko/1112.jpg |
