New budget build for HD, and short to medium range training and targets:
PSA 'MOE' Mid-length Freedom 5.56 NATO UBK, ODG AeroPrecision Stripped Lower, ODG Cerakote PSA Std. LBK (included in UBK) Magpul Enhanced Trigger Guard, ODG Woltis 2-point Sling, ODG Vortex Spitfire 3x Prism Scope w/ EBR-556B MOA Reticle (100-yard zero) ADE HG54G Rechargeable Laser Sight, Green (25-yard zero) Streamlight ProTac Rail Mount HL-X 1k-Lumen w/ Tape Switch I should've just splurged and got the ODG Aero upper.....alas I did not I'm fighting the urge to order it. I'll probably just end up building out a completely new upper in ODG that can be swapped out on the fly. Something for long range. A top-shelf barrel and BCG. I love the green, phosphate-coated barrel that Spike's Tactical has. It's perfect for what I want. **Edit** Moved the Streamlight forward a tad via MOE cantilever rail section. OD Green castle nut ordered from Primary Arms, along with a new H&K Loop style endplate for the Woltis 2-pt sling that I have. I'll post a pic when it's all installed. |

I'm down to 3 1/2 as of now. All with dedicated cans. But the ODG bug always seems to bite me frequently.. especially when I see a nice build. Again, kudos to you my friend. Enjoy the heck out of it. |

It can be swapped to my XDm, and sighted in, in less than 5min. The only issues that I've read about with the ADE lasers, is that the touch button can come off after some use. My wife has a hot glue gun. It will take me about 2 min to stick that button back on. Although, I doubt that I'll ever have to do that, because the newer ones are glued on really well. The only reason that I have it mounted on there is because I went with a 3x scope. Its sole purpose is to put holes in human-sized targets under 25 yards, as quickly as possible. It will seldom be used. |

Even though I, and many here are not fans of non-IR lasers, the bigger reason I pointed it out was it being mounted on a fixed 3x optic with a limited eyebox. Just thought irons would be a better solution for you in an HD role. Your rifle, you posted it, expect feedback. Congrats on your new rifle. |

Lol, I never said that. Anyone who knows anything about this subject, knows that you can't cowitness through a magnified scope. You don't have to look through the scope to see the laser on something. That is the point. And for clarification, I meant that the laser is for 25yd and under, and will seldom be used. Not the rifle. I do have iron sights on it(no, you cannot cowitness). I have an A2 FSP, so I did not want offset ironsights....thus I bought a decent laser sight for cheap. It is, again, a budget build. It absolutely works, and is absolutely enjoyable. It's the most fun that I've had with a rifle, since the issued m249 that I lugged around the desert for two years.
I love feedback. I don't think that was feedback. I think most of the guys around here would agree. If you want to talk shit about it, pick something worth talking shit about. Like the cheap as dirt bcg that came in this thing. Piece of shit. It fires and ejects the round every single time, though. It hasn't misfed or misfired once....even with the cheap Hexmags. |
