Oh my, now this is one of the better threads I've seen in a long time. I've grown bored with watching the "look what I bought" threads.
Great idea!! Now I have to go dig up some pics...... |

I guess I have to give in too.
Some of you probably have seen one of these pictures on other threads. I dont really want to show off all my builds, but heres my favorites. One of my first builds, Originally this was on a preban lower. I had taken a preban A2 rifle lower and installed a telescoping buttstock, bought myself a bushmaster A3 upper, and mounted a 14.5 inch Bushmaster M4 type barrel with the 2 3/16 inch Phantom Flash suppressor. When the ban ended, I purchased another stripped DPMS lower receiver and installed the parts into it. I then mated this to the upper so I could get the finishes to match better. The old preban lower is now on the Bottom M16A1 clone pictured below. The finishes match much better on both rifles now. In this M4 carbine, I have installed an M73 Surefire rail system, Magpul black rail covers, Trijicon Reflex 1 6.5 MOA sight, and a Streamlight M3X Xenon Tac light. All in all, I have put almost as much money into it with the accessories, as I did to built the carbine. Fun stuff! http://home.comcast.net/~canyonflyer/M4stand_1.jpg This is one of my favorite rifles. I built this during the AWB, so I had to go with post ban parts. It has a RRA lower, RRA A2 upper RRA Chromoly barrel with the Wilson Arms Tactical Birdcage muzzle brake permanently attached. This ended up being a pretty reasonably cost build, and cycles any type of ammunition you feed it. It's extremely reliable and accurate rifle. http://home.comcast.net/~canyonflyer/rockriverarmspost.jpg These are a couple of my more recent builds. Though I didnt put nearly as much effort into these as I did the other ones. The uppers were surplus government M16A1 uppers. The top one was a brand new colt manufactured upper assembly purchased through CDNN investments. The bottom was a used surplus M16A1 upper bought privately over the internet. Both came fully assembled, all I really had to do was get a bolt carrier and a charging handle for each. The lowers were a couple of DPMS low serial number lowers that I had taken off of some other rifles, and put on these to get the finishes to match. Finding the A1 pistol grips and the A1 buttstocks were probably the most difficult things to get out of these two (except for the CDNN upper, it came with a nice A1 trapdoor buttstock.) http://home.comcast.net/~canyonflyer/AR15A1s.jpg I am currently assembling two M4 Carbines....one for me and one for my brother in law. They will both have RRA uppers and lowers, with Bushmaster 16 inch profile barrels. Mine will have OD green furniture, the Bros with have Coyote Brown. I will post photos of them when I get them completed. Might be a while, RRA is backordered, and I havent got the uppers yet! |

The top one is mine, started out as DPMS LoPro, now has new upper w/ 16" wilson fluted, YHM free floating rail, and my fav piece.... EOTech 552.
The bottom is my first build, a fellow 'joe' in my unit wanted to get into them. Built all but the upper, decided with the tools i have, or lack there of, it would be easier to order the upper already complete....i haven't fired it yet, but he says she runs flawlessly..... (yes he has a rear site on it now.... http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y87/SideBurnS19D/IMG_3099.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y87/SideBurnS19D/AR15s.jpg |

You can have it done QUICKLY, done INEXPENSIVELY, done CORRECTLY. Pick any two.

Put my first AR here together on a Stag lower and used a Del-Ton 20" chrome-lined A2 kit. Came in right at $600 including shipping, just gotta get some Mags now. Threw the rest of my little arsenal in: Romanian AK, Taurus 92, Taurus 945, and a Phoenix Arms .22. Just gotta decide what to do with the other lowers now, maybe something will come to mind h.gif Henry at Title2 and Del-Ton both get a thumbs-up. Thanks

I think it is dead sexy! I like it, any idea what the weight is? How does it feel when you shoulder it? Does it point nicely with the A1 stock? |
||
|
Hmmm... With the aimpoint, buis, and sling, the bathroom scale reads 8lbs. I wouldn't trust that that is a very accurate number, but it "feels" close.
It points very nicely! The lighter barrel really helps the balance. I'm excited to function test it. Cheers, Chris |
