I have a Model 1 kit gun with a free floated 16in. fluted .750 bbl. My problem is the cheapass A2 fsb,it leaks gas between the base and bbl. and one ear is thicker than the other cosmetic but crappy. What are my options to relace it? I have been looking at the Yankee Hill bolt on flip sight with bayo lug  & sling loop. Will it be the same height as the original A2 type sight?Does Y/H make a good product? Or how about a gas block and a removable A2 type sight? Steel or Aluminum block which would be better, that would bolt on as trying to drill and pin  sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. Any help would be great .Thanks.Also where to get these parts the most reasonable.

Having never tried a YHM gas block or FSB, I can't comment on those, but all of the YHM products I've tried and seen were well made. Most, if not all, of Bushmaster's "BMAS" stuff is made by YHM. The best guy to buy from would be Brightflashlights; he has a forum in the industry section.

I`ve seen thick-thin ears on fsb`s before and if your fsb is forged it will not win any beauty contests. Most fsb forgings are rough to some extent but they are strooooong!!!!  Shoot your rifle and I bet your gas leak dissapears.
