Does the CompM have a 2MOA dot?  It may, but I thought they pretty much all had 4MOA dots before the CompM3.

It depends what you're looking for in the optic.  For all intents and purposes the CompM should serve you fine, it was the Army's M68CCO before the CompM2 and served fine in that capacity.

The PRO will have more advanced electronics in it, though.

The Comp M was discontinued years ago and uses older technology with less of a battery life.  The dimensions are essentially the same and any 30MM mount will work.  However, the PRO is a better optic, includes an updated QRP2 mount and has a 30,000 hrs battery life.  You just missed out on the latest Black Friday deals, but they can still be found for $400.

You get a lot of updates in the Pro, I would hold out for it rather than a well used M.

I still have a Comp M. It is 2 moa and still works perfectly.

I have the PRO mounted on my Patrol Rifle along with an Aimpoint 3x Magnifier on a Samson Quick Flip Modular Aimpoint 3X Magnifier Mount with ARMS Base. I love the PRO, my partner has the older COMP M, and like the others are saying, it's longer battery life and included mount are well worth it. I paid 400 for mine about 5 months ago.
