Other than for shotguns for their recoil, and my LMT SOPMOD's pad for not slipping on my vest, I don't see much use for one.  But when I shoot my AR10 with the PRS in prone, the aluminum pad strikes me in the collar bone and it hurts like hell
I'm thinking of cutting up a mouse pad and either zip tie or use 100mph tape to secure it to the PRS butt pad, alas I'm out of unused mouse pads.  Any suggestions?

How about a piece of rollbar padding?

The squishy SFI stuff, not the super dense FIA version.

What about an old iso mat, I think you could get one for 5 bucks at a surplus store, cut a piece to fit and tape it on.

Thanks guys, I'll try those.  I have a left over Mossberg shottie butt pad, it's too big and ugly   Looks like a home-made one is the key then
I do have a GI sleeping mat, there's enough material to cut out a piece and it'll still be usable.  I'll post pics when done

Instead of duct tape, use  industrial-strength velcro (3M Scotchmate) that has adhesive on it to secure the padding.....it would look cleaner............... just my $.02 on it.

I applaud your duct-tape-fu, however, you do know they make black duct tape.

Well, I did such a poor job cutting the shape out of the sleeping pad, I think I HAVE TO cover it up  I like the green tape, I'm too chicken and poorly skilled at painting, taping stuff up is much easier

If you only showed the pictures from a distance, people would think that mod was fantastic!

FYI The guys at Cobb have used this pad cut to fit with great success on the PRS.
