I've tried to keep up with the FRT scene for AK's (PSA Krink specifically), but it looks like not many options for the PSA Krink version. I'm interested in getting one that will work without major work on the receiver. Anybody have good results with your specific brand? I'd really like to get one for the Krink, but don't want a dud that is a constant tinker operation. I like the look of the MARS trigger with the V2 spring, but don't understand what I have to Dremel off. I've got several other FRT's and they run great. I'm hoping my first Krink FRT will continue the trend. I'd love to hear your PSA Krink FRT stories. Thanks! |
 Nov 10 2025 USMC Birthday Shoot 5.45 PSA Krink. Buy an ALG trigger. Trigger slap was nasty with the FRT and the factory trigger and the FIME trigger. I used a standard AK FRT with the cam and sliding trip bar. |

I'm not an AK guy anywhere near the degree I'm an AR man, but I have a pair I'd like to FRT. One isn't exactly a Krink where it matters, it's a PSAK 74 with a folding stock. My cut and paste from the AK forum on the cam style FRT install: I’m not an expert but here’s how I do the installs: 1) Fit the sliding bar to the gun and function test with the bolt. The sliding bar might need thinned to allow it to slide freely. The only things I’ve thinned are the back and/or the height. 2) Fit the cam onto the safety lever while out of the gun. Make sure the cam moves freely on the end of the safety lever. I had a mak90 lever that was too wide at the end and would bind on the cam 3) With the trigger out, fit the cam and safety lever in the gun. Depending on the trunion and rivets, some cam material might need removed to allow the cam to move freely. On the mak90 I also had to remove a very minor amount of material from the cam nub where it interfaces with the sliding bar in order for the cam to fit 4) Modify the trigger radius using the jig. Now comes the part where you get really good at assembly and disassembly. Keep test fitting, function testing, live fire testing, removing radius material from the trigger, etc until the force reset works, the cam rotates enough to allow the bolt group to pass over it without binding up, etc |

Quoted: Yep PSA 5.45 Krink :D effectively you replace the factory disconnector with the kit. There may be some fitting on the left side of the trigger shoe bar, but on my PSA Krink I didn't. There's a cam device that has a wire arm that slides into the receiver above the rail. That cam blocks the trigger from dropping the hammer until the bolt is all the way forward. I just ordered a MARS Beryl AK trigger - they are supposedly in stock at Optics Planet. This will go in my Mini-Beryl made to look like a Krink. I had good luck with my V2 MARS in my AK-104 clone - had to sand/Dremel part of the front-most rivet on the rear trunnion down to allow clearance for the reset mechanism to move - but the gun works great. I am excited about this one! I hope it works well!

@Cherenkov, Would you mind shooting some good pics of the area you had to grind off? Rivets/trunnion? I understand it will be necessary for my PSA Krink, but I'd love to see some pics of what, how much, how extensive. I'm excited and have one on order from Optiics Planet. ( I know, OP). But I called and a very nice price. Thanks in advance. |

I have the MARS V2 in a PSA AK104 pictured here. As shown I had to grind down part of the rivet on the front left side of the side folder trunnion. I've put lots of rounds downrange with it - its still nice and tight. I suppose you could dab a weld to it to assure its never going to move but despite the material removal its good. Some commented it was using "full auto parts" which was a no-no, and it was pulled down - but not sure that is true as the search was merely acting as a block for forced reset not its original purpose, so someone making virgin versions would probably appear sometimes. I've been having lots of fun with my Mini-Beryl Krink made to resemble a Russian gun with Triangle Stock. I had too many problems with the MARS Beryl trigger and went to a Texas Triggers Drop in - Literally dropped it in, 5 minutes later its working at the range! Its 5.56, If 5.45 was available, I'd build one, but the ammo is out of sight. My 5.45 74s are just sitting in the safe. Hoping the war in Ukraine ends and brings in tons of surplus before a Democrat regime moves into the frame.
