I just saw one of these sell in the EE for $775 ... What is so special about them that they would sell for so much?

Probably a Pre-Ban which usually go for much more in ban states...

PWA and other pre ban lowers go for a premium in some states that still have assault weapon bans.

I used to have one, until I sold it for a good price to a bother in a ban state. I don't recall PWA making many lowers that weren't pre-ban.

I ask because I have one and never thought it was anything special other then being a good lower and having very cool serial number....

It used to be the preban receivers went for a few hundred, or that guys in AWB states would buy/ trade two modern lowers for one preban.  A buddy of mine was selling his preban carbine for $1000, so I guess prices are still all over the map.

35,222 is the pre ban cut off serial #

I've got a stripped lower that was bought in the late 1990's that's in the 40,000 range. With no stamped date of manufacture.

I have two PWA lowers. One is a  preban carbine with a serial number in 30xxx range which was built in April 1994 (confirmed by the factory) but is (correctly) not date stamped- that practice began sometime after the ban took effect. The other is a postban in the 41xxx range which is not date marked. I have not checked with LMT on when it was made.

I had a non preban PWA lower...fuck my life that I sold it as a complete "M4" for pretty cheap

I wish I never sold that gem...non preban PWA lowers are somewhat hard to come by
