| Does anyone know where to find PWA lower receivers? Are they still being made? I found a place called Sunset Guns (www.sunsetguns.com) the other day and they advertise a new PWA lower stripped (post ban, of course) for $110. I really like the markings - very simple and not too wordy. The word "COMMANDO" doesn't hurt, either. I just can't find any info on them but I can remember seeing them at gun shows but not paying much attention to them. |

I have owned four AR15 rifles- three PWA's and one Olympic Arms. They all operated and acted the same; happy when clean and fed with a good mag and good ammo; finicky when dirty and fed Wolf from a USA mag. [:)] PWA went out of business not too long after the '94 AWB. The BATF declared a lot of their receivers postban; the company was cranking them out like mad but had no idea they had to have a complete gun for the receiver to be grandfathered. As PWA never made a complete gun, this presented a real problem. According to a few different internet sites, a Brownell's catalog once stated that "Definite serial cutoff. Last Pre-ban lower is #35,222. All Post-ban receivers are given a year prefix." Unless I get a smoking deal on some other brand, it's all PWA for me. I see no reason to pay more for a more well-known name when PWA works just as well. Mike |

Quoted: As far as I know they got bought out by RRA. I have a PWA preban that I love. I don't know anyone with one that doesn't love them. Preban cut off is somewhere around 30,000 if I remember correctly. Actually, I think RRA bought all of their production equipment after they closed their doors. Love my PWA lower too [:D]. |

Quoted: I have a preban PWA, with an unknown upper. Mine runs great any idea what is is worth? . A lot less than it was a year ago [;)]. Seriously, with the impending sunset of AW Ban, values of all prebans have fallen drastically. Maybe 7-900, depending on condition, etc. |
