I've had this PWA for about twenty years.  In 1996 I had just gotten out of the Army and was staying with my inlaws for a few weeks.  I had complained that the rear pin was somewhat difficult to take down.  My then FIL took it to the garage and came back with this.

Here's the deal.  It still works just fine.  I even ran a two day carbine course with it.  The upper/lower are still plenty tight.  It's just really ugly.

It's also preban and I'm in serious heat for a Benelli M1S90 or a TA11 or TA31.

I need to know the value of the lower only even with the fugliness my FIL did.  Because of it's functionality, I wouldn't think it would take too much off the value.

Wow! Did he bore out the hole?

A stripped preban receiver here in CT goes for @ $400. That blem would take it down about $50. So, $350 sounds fair.
But if you looked long enough you could find someone willing to shell out up to $600 if you wanted.

That will affect value. How much depends on the buyer. Lots of scared little ninnys in the AR market right now. Good luck, I would guess $350-400 on that.

Too bad he did a hack job on that hole. If it was my receiver I would get that hole plugged and have the hole reinstalled at the correct location and size, then have the lower refinished. I'm sure it wouldn't cost that much. If you had that repaired and refinished I'm sure you could get big bucks for it from someone in a banned state.

Stripped, it would probably be worth $350. A stripped broken ear PWA sold on GB for like $325 or $330 last summer (before shipping and xfer.

If you wanted it fixed, I bet M60Joe could do you good.

I've been looking for adds on PWA lowers. I just got one in like great condition. I saw one go on GB the other day for $800 with bushmaster internals. Mine has colt m16 internals. I've been trying to price mine out as well.

Mine has a M16 upper and internals (no sear obviously).  The only thing that ever broke on this rifle was the Colt bolt () during the two day class I mentioned above.  Other than the crater my ex FIL drilled out and the replacement bolt everything else is the same as when I got it around 1988.

Mine is a 604 upper, PWA lower. Just got it and didn't know much about it. Been here trying to figure it all out. Been a fun few days of learning.

Anyone who pays $800 for a lower is an idiot.  Yet, people get $800 for preban lowers.  This confirms a theory I have.....

My thoughts exactly..
I wouldnt pay much more than $100.00 for this lower that has been boogered up.. A broken ear is one thing. But drilling out the take down pin hole??
Lost all value right there.

I hear you on that. I'm guessing it's people in ban states that want them and will pay that kind of money for them. Hell, after I saw that, I was thinking of listing mine there for that price!! Then I'd have to sell my full 604 upper that it's attached to.

I am in a ban state and I still wouldnt pay more than 100 bucks for that thing..

I was pretty hot. It was fourteen years ago and it didn't affect function so I doubt I said anything.
