Anybody know why PWS stop using Vltor MUR as their upper. Looking into purchasing one until i saw they weren't using them any more. I like the look of the Vltor MUR alot better.

The switch was made based on supply and cost considerations.  The uppers that used that receiver are now $100.00 less in price and are able to be built in greater quantities with ease.  I agree the Mur-1 is hot, but the new receivers are less in weight and the savings are passed onto the customer.

Go to Specialized Tactical Systems in CO I think. I had them build an upper and lower that fit together w/ NO play as I requested and they custome serialize as well if you want to wait extra time. Look at the thread of PWS pictures and mine should be the first. The MUR receiver is the way to go and I went w/ the billet lower as well. It is built like a tank.

Delray Shooting Center still has Diablos with the MUR1 receiver in stock and ready to ship.

I believe they have 5 or 6 Diablo5.56 and one 7.62Diablo with the MUR1.

Here is their contact info for anyone interested.

Do you have problem inserting a full mag in with close bolt on your .223?

Is it correct that PWS don't have free floating barrels?  I went with LMT MRP piston in part for that reason (and barrel change optionality)... just hope they release the 6.8 piston soon... perhaps 7.62x39 also...

This is correct, the complete uppers and the rifles that are produced by PWS are a non-free float design.  My DC-16 with a trijicon TA11 consistently groups 1.25 MOA with 55gr PMC (hardly match grade ammo) and tightens to .8 with 75gr Wolf.
The Diablo 7 inch has had published groups in articles of 1MOA.

Free floating barrel really not need on a 7" barrel.

I have to slap the mags in w/ a closed bolt. I think this to be common w/ other guns as well. My 10.5" w/ 75 gr. PRVI shoots 2" or smaller @ 200 yards w/ my Trijicon. I think that is very good w/ a short barrel that is chromed lined. Lothar Walter barrel. 1:8 twist.

With the 7.62 Diablo and C-product 30rd  mags..it impossible to load the mag on a close bolt. I take 5 rds out and still need to force it in.
