I'm getting a PWS Diablo in 5.56 and wanted to find out what buffers people are using.  What is the best set up for buffer and spring?

I run the Spikes ST-T2 Heavy Buffer along with their Mil-Spec 17-4 stainless steel buffer spring. Runs perfect.

On a separate note, the Diablo is an awesome upper. Your gonna love it

What lower you have with your diablo? Mine don't fit my Tactical Innovation lower,RRA, only fit my Colt and SunDevil lower.

I run it primarily on my Spikes lower, but I've also run it on my RRA and Bushmaster lowers.

There is a variance in the depth to the shelf below the rear takedown pin on the many different receivers out there.  Unfortunately, on certain uppers this variance is mirrored in the lenght of the rear take down lug that the pin passes through.  When the first is too shallow and the latter is too tall, then you end up with the clearance issue you have seen.  We have recently made the component change to mil-spec forged receivers on all of our MK1 series complete uppers, as we have not seen this clearance issue on that particular style of upper receiver regardless of the lower's shelf depth.

Well, I picked my Diablo up from the post office this morning.  It is a little tight on my Noveske lower, but I expected this since the other Vltor upper I have i tight.  I can't wait to get it to the range and play.  I've been using an H2 buffer with my 6.8 and am hoping I can leave it in all the time between the 6.8 and Diablo 5.56.

I have the DC 7, which is the cheaper Diablo version. I've had a myriad of FTF due to overgassing. I spoke with PWS and they said I need a heavier buffer. I've been running a Spike's T2 but now am looking for something heavier, like a 9mm or one of those piston specific buffers that negates buffer tube wear. Anyone running anything heavier than a T2/H2?

I run a standard CAR buffer...no issues!

I run the Spikes T2 on my Diablo and haven't run into one issue.

i have run the standard weight buffer, h2 and spikes buffers in both 5.56 and 7.62 diablo's with no problems. all with a standard buffer spring. i prefer the spikes tungsten due to slower rate and lower recoil. PWS sells the spikes buffer on their site.
