hey guys, i just received one of these in the mail and went to install it today. you have to peal layers off the washer to make the fsc556 align properly on the firearm. i tired heating it up with a lighter like the instructions state but i could not get it to peal. i took some sandpaper and sanded down both sides till i worked through a layer and could peal it off. well i tried to heat it up again because it was going incredibly slow and when i heated it up the second time it decided to split into 5 or 6 different pieces. now there all too thin to use.

we have an assortment of brass and aluminum washers at work, can i use one of those?

Might want to try a crush washer as I had the same problem when I bought my PWS flash hider.

Just stack those peeled pieces together until it times right.  That's what I did with mine and you can't tell the washer came apart.

I found that when I installed my FSC556 on my LaRue barrel, it actually took more than one washer t get it to index properly.  I used a whole washer with several of the "peels" to get it to torque down and index. You should not be able spin the washers between the barrel and FH/Comp when done properly.

well i got it installed. i had to use a few aluminum washers i found at work but the break is indexed properly. it kinda looks like crap with all the different layers of washers.. i think ill be looking for one solid washer.

Not supposed to use a crush washer with a suppressor.

If you can't heat it, get a razor blade to cut thin sections of the washer off.

Always split peel washer layers with a razors.

i tired but i couldn't get it to split into layers. only until i tried heating it a second time it decided to split into 5 layers and it was ruined..

I adm it that when I first started using them it was difficult. A torch lighter and practice with a razor solved that.

If you kind of flick the edge of the washer with the razor edge, the separations become more visible.
