| I was wondering if someone could tell me which manufactures parts are interchangable. I heard Colts were not the same as Bushmaster. Which manufactures uppers and lowers interchange. I am thinking of purchasing an AR. I will use it for varmint hunting. There are a lot of uppers and parts at gun shows, so I am intrested in buying a gun that has the most interchangability. I would like to here from someone that builds them. |

The majority of the ,non-Colt, AR pieces are "mil-spec" and should interchange. There seems to be some fitment issues with Rock River uppers and Bushmaster lowers, but nothing that can't be simply addressed. Colt, however, has their own ideas on several issues. And alot of parts are not interchangable, outside of other Colt's. Colt parts are usually much more expensive, but only more valuable if you actually want Colt parts. [rolleyes] |
