Would this Emergency Survival Kit from Bushmaster: www.bushmaster.com/shopping/lowers/aremerga1.asp Be able to work in a Rock River SHTF Ar-15 should something break? |

I hate the pre-packaged survival kits. Seems like a way to get rid of a lot of crap you will probably never need. Also leaves out some pretty necessary stuff. Like, where is the spare extractor? I think you could dump the sight adjustor, punches, hammer and fancy surplus GI cleaning kit case for starters and spend the $$ in a more satisfactory manner. A complete bolt is my #1 spare part. It contains most of the stuff that fails or needs regular replacement. It cost less than the kit and it has a bolt and extractor not found in the kit. A disconnector spring, firing pin (punch) cam pin and a spare extractor spring might be good. Should be about the cost of the kit and more practical. |
