I searched the topic but is there an overlying preference for cotton or synthetic?

Is cotton more absorbant?

I'm a cotton guy. I had some synthetic patches once and didn’t like them. It seemed like I needed MORE of them to do the equivalent job I could do with cotton patches.

How long till you buy that lower receiver? Your gonna’ be pretty schooled up by then with all the questions you've been asking!

ETA: DJ....check your IM's.

got it, what kinda patches are you using?

I use regular fruit of the loom t-shirts for patches 95% of the time.  I have some heavier cotton patches that fit very tightly on a jag to clean my .308 precision rifle, which I didn't clean the last time I shot it...........

Right now I’m using Montana X-treme 1 1/8th square 100% cotton flannel patches. Some times I cut my own from bed sheets. Also, some times depending on the brand of jag your using, you may have to trim your patches.
