Looking to buy a CMMG 14.5" M4 1:7 upper. I plan to permanently attach one of the longer A2 suppressors mentioned here on the board (can't remember the name of the gentleman making them right now). I have two questions: 1. What does it take for the flash suppressor to be considered "permanently attached"? 2. As long as the flash suppressor is permanently attached, it is included in over all barrel length, right? One more question, does CMMG have a good reputation for quality and customer service? I am new to the board and have lots of questions. Thanks guys! |

Ditto the pinned and weleded! CMMG is a great company with great products and service. I have the 16" version of the upper your looking at and it has been 100% reliable and also very accurate. You can't go wrong with CMMG![:D] Here's my CMMG 16", 1/7, M4a3 upper...[;)] |

Rambosky, Yep, it's pre-ban Colt. Yojimbo, Good looking rifle! How do you like your Surefire, is it a 900A? What rear sight is that and how do you like it? Do you like your VLTOR stock? What optical sight is that, Eotech? How do you like it? I have been considering the Surefire 900A, an ARMS rear fold-down sight, and undecided on optics right now. Thanks for the replies guys. |

ricksrifle, Thanks for the compliments! I really like the Surefire M900a. At least for me it perfect. It was the only weapon light that worked perfectly when using my my carbine either eright or left handed. It also has the Nav LED lights which is nice to have when you don't want to use the main light. My EOTech and ARMS 40a have been great and I couldn't ask more from a optic/BUIS combo. Got to the Optics forum and there is huge thread about the EOTech and Aimpoint. THat should give a good idea about bothh sights. The Vltor stock has also been great, awesome cheekweld and nice and tight! |

Mattld, It's a 16" threaded barrel plus the A2 fs. I will probably upgrade to the new YHM 5 port Phantoms without the 6 o'clock port![:D] I personally prefer the 16" barrel for better velocities and not having to permanently attach any muzzle devices gives me more options. This carbine is my rendition of a non-magnified optic equipped Recce/Recon carbine. I'm saving up for a ACOG TA31 so I can expand my optics choices. |
