I have a 10+ year old complete upper. Now I want a lower. Recently I've read that there are different pin sizes that might prevent a good mating between upper and lower. can someone give me some information on this please?

I think you wanted to be in the AR Forum
Mil spec pin size .250
Colt large pin size .315
Correct me if I'm wrong
Most of your MFGs. Bushmaster/DPMS etc. make conversion pins to mate any of the combinations.
I think you were talking about AR 15s right?

Welcome to the site!
I'm going to move this to the AR Forum as the AK Forum isn't the best place for this.

If you buy a lower today, it will have 0.250" holes for the takedown and pivot pins.
Your upper will work, even if you have an oddball Colt upper with a 0.315" pivot pin hole. You would need an offset sleeve for the front lug of your upper.

Thanks guys. Useful information. Seems like I probably won't have a problem.
