Ive read up on threads of this. Basically remove my pinned muzzle break and install a flash hider. I know about adco and all that. But i wanted to see if this
is something i could do. I have a drill press at the shop. Here are some pics. Things that caught my eye:

1. The pin is not welded and it does not go through to the other side of the break.
2. I looked inside with a flash light and saw that the pin does not go through the thread of the barrel. ( ie. i could not see the pin or holes from inside the thread of the barrel.)
3. The pin is at 6 oclock

What do you guys think. I was thinking of just drilling out the the pin which i think is probably only an 1/8 or 1/16 long. Then i assume the muzzle could just be screwed off the barrel?
I live in NM so i dont need to pin the flash hider. I bought the gun like this a while back. if i should succeed should the flash hider just screw on securely? What keeps it from screwing back out? Thanks guys!!!

your crush washer will act like a lock washer, keeping your new muzzle device in place

yes, if you drill out the pin, you should be able to remove your current brake

thanks. Is this something you would let a gun smith do or yourself.

I'd tackle that job myself.
A good quality bit, and check your depth/progress frequently.

I couldnt do it after all. The pin is just to hard of a metal. The bit was able to drill the muzzle but not the Pin.
I might just have to dremel it out, but it have to buy a dremel first. if not ill send it to adco.

Get a good solid carbide bit, problem solved, be careful with it though, they break like glass if dropped or used it rough manner, meaning lots of chatter, or improperly clamped part.

AND--> Make sure not to drill too deep. There are several cases of people drilling thru the brake and pin, the barrel is soft steel and drills easily. When I remove one I use the very end of the drill press stroke, (and I use cutting fluid).

Make sure your barrel is at least 16" if you decide not to pin it.

Some builds are 14.5" BBl with a permanent flash hider......... You would be creating a SBR if you have the short bbl and not perm. attached FH.
