I'm thinking about pinning my compensator myself.  I have a 14.5" BCM BFH barrel and a BCM compensator.  The compensator came with a pinning hole pre-drilled and a pin.  If I drilled the barrel myself and applied the pin, would I be able to use either solder or JB Weld to seal-in the pin?  I don't have the capability to weld it myself and would like to avoid sending it off to be pinned.

Don't believe so.  I think there is an ATF ruling out there somewhere that states the requirements you should review.

It takes me about 2 minutes to get setup, hood on and all to Tig a pin in. If I were to charge you, I would not charge more than $5. I had an old broken off drill bit that the blank end worked perfect for the pin... welds nice too...

Thanks for the info fellas.  I searched, like I should have before posting, and now know what I need to do.  The comp came with a pin so I'm just going to drill the blind hole and have a welder put a small weld over it. DONE!
