| The Hammer Pin on my Cav MKII is the same lenght as the Trigger pin. But, the pins don't go clear through the frame and fit flush at the Hammer. Now what?! |
|
What do you mean by 'The pins don't go clear through'? Is there an issue with both the trigger and hammer pins, or just the hammer pin? Is the hammer pin flush with the receiver on one side, and recessed on the other? or can you just not get the hammer pin through to the other side? ie. the pin is sticking out of one side of the receiver, and recessed on the other side. |

The trigger pin and the hammer pin are one and the same. The annular grove in the middle is for the hammer J spring, and the annular grove on the side is for the hammer springtail to retain the pin when used in the trigger. When installing the hammer pin, drive the flush side in first. This will keep you from having to get the J spring to lip over the side grove. Note: some middle annular groves tend to be a bit off center. On these it helps to just insert the pin 180* to see if it fits better (flush with both sides). Or just swap the pins to try the trigger pin out in the hammer location (may have to swap direction on it as well). |
Thats because the Cav Arms lower is thicker on the area withe hammer and the area the houses the trigger. The hammer pin should be offset to the inside of the receiver by the same amount on both sides. |
